Cocoa Cashmere Christmas gifts

In need of a festive pick-me-up, or looking for gift inspiration? We’ve got 10 ideas that promise to leave you and your loved ones feeling Christmassy in no time at all...

The Christmas songs have started and your neighbours have switched their lights on - it’s official, Christmas is well on its way. But if you’re still struggling to get in the festive spirit – or need some inspiration – then this guide should help. We wanted to share 10 simple ways to get in the festive mood, with ideas that promise to leave you feeling and looking great. Plus, some make great gifts for your loved ones, if you’re feeling generous...

Cocoa Cashmere Christmas - It's a Wonderful Life

1. A Christmas film.

If you’re already scoffing at the the idea of finding a spare few hours to settle down with a film, we strongly suggest making a few diary tweaks - it’s the quickest (and most enjoyable) way to finding your inner cheer. Naturally, children’s films should be first choice - pick from timeless classics like Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman to Home Alone, Elf or Miracle on 34th Street (or if the children are asleep, upgrade to Love Actually or It’s A Wonderful Life). Before you know it, you’ll be as jolly as Father Christmas himself, promise.

2. A warming bath soak.

There’s nothing quite like sinking into a warm bath when it’s freezing outside - especially when it’s filled with skin-soothing bath oils. Pouring a capful of luxurious bath oil under running water is the quickest way to unwind and revive after a long day (even better when somebody else runs it for you!). Anything mixed with festive cedarwood, mandarin or ginger will blow away those cobwebs and leave your skin with a gorgeous festive scent. Just make sure there’s a festive tipple waiting for you afterwards…

Cocoa Cashmere Maxi Dress

3. The Maxi - an oh-so-soft cashmere dress.

Step away from the itchy fabrics and uncomfortable waistlines - this stunning floor-length maxi has a flattering fitted design, with long sleeves and a classic round neckline. Made from 100% pure cashmere, it’s soft and cosy enough to wear indoors, or layer it with a sleek biker jacket and ankle boots for outside (it works well with a parka and trainers for a relaxed look, too). And since it comes in three colours - pink, grey and navy - one might not be enough... £275 in sizes XS-L)

4. A winter warmer.

It’s hard pleasing everyone when it comes to Christmas cocktails, but if you get it right, you’re onto a winner (and it’s more fun than chopping Christmas Day carrots). Pick from warming mulled wine or spiced cider, or for a non-alcoholic tipple, try warming up cloudy apple juice with a cinnamon stick, a couple of cloves, a chunk of ginger, some clementine peels and sugar (swap the apple juice for apple cider for a boozy kick). Perfect for hunkering down on the sofa with.

5. The Grace - a perfect boyfriend sweater.

If you’ve been looking for that perfect, do-it-all sweater, then your search is over - this drop-shoulder grey v-neck, £185] is made from a super soft lurex-cashmere blend that flatters while feeling luxurious and cosy. Available in sizes S to L, colours grey, mango, navy, baby blue and oatmeal, it’s a modern take on the classic boyfriend sweater - its batwing shape means the silhouette is soft and easy, and the hem fits neatly on the hips (great for apple shapes). Form a queue...

6. A spicy Christmas candle.

Not only does a festive candle fill the house with a gorgeous scent, but the gentle flickering of candlelight is an instant soother. Warming, spicy scents are great - we love anything with fig, clove or frankincense, or deep woody scents (try cedar or pine combinations). A good-quality candle won’t overpower your guests and will leave a subtle lingering scent long after it’s been blown out (trim the wick first to avoid excess smoke). It’s also a great gift for Christmas Day hosts…

 7. A ‘star’ piece of clothing.

It might not be warm enough to gaze at the real deal, but these gorgeous cashmere sweaters come a very close second. Our Estelle, a boxy blue and grey star sweater, £219 has some clever touches, featuring lurex in the stars to give them some extra sparkle, as well as keyhole detailing at the neck and contrasting roll edges. Those who love a brighter look will love the Sophie, a pink star sweater, £219 which is a lurex-cashmere blend. The fluoro pink stars contrast perfectly against the oatmeal cashmere, meaning it’s a fun, but tasteful Christmas jumper (yes, such a thing really does exist…).

Cocoa Christmas nat King Cole

8. A Christmas biscuit (or two).

Not only do they smell delicious as they’re cooking, but they’re essential fuel when present-wrapping continues late into the night. From gingerbread men to fruity biscotti or peppermint cream cookies, you’ll find plenty of inspiration online and it’s a fun way to get children (or partners) away from the TV, or their phones. Keep a batch to hand for guests, and when you’re handed a gift you’re not expecting you can quickly wrap a stack up in cellophane or brown paper and tie with ribbon. Voila! An easy, thoughtful gift everyone will love.

9. Your favourite seasonal soundtrack.

It’s time to play those Christmas tunes loudly and proudly. Whether it’s Wham’s Last Christmas, Nat King Cole or Bing Crosby, there’s nothing like a few festive numbers to get everybody singing along in unison (no matter how dodgy it actually sounds). If you’re bored of your family’s choices, suggest everyone brings their favourite Christmas album to lunch on the 25th and let the madness commence. Top tip: bring earplugs…

10. The Helena - a gift from the heart.

If there’s somebody special you’d like to spoil this Christmas, share the love with this chic heart-sleeved sweater, £219. Its slightly shorter, neater shape (it features a delicate seam running down the front) means it looks great with jeans or tucked into a high-waisted skirt for Christmas parties (or on the day itself) and thanks to its timeless design and quality finish, they’ll be wearing it for years to come. Or you could just keep it for yourself…
